Tax Cuts don't work: CBS News

CBS News ran a fascinating story on Sunday Aug 2, 2009. They reported that new research is finding increased Food Stamp spending generates a higher localized economic return than other attempts at Economic Stimulus. Specifically a dollar spent on WIC, generates almost TWO dollars in impact throughout the local economic food chain. This even beats the traditional Keynesian powerhouse of Infrastructure spending, which manages a close second, returning a little over $1.50 for every dollar in outlay.

At the other end of the spectrum, Tax Cuts fall on their face, only creating three cents of stimulus for every dollar spent. The data is clear, tax-reductions will not benefit local economies as much as other strategies. Let your friends know, that their hard earned money is going to a good purpose!
