Deschutes Democrats: “Local Candidates Forum” 

Having difficulty deciding who to vote for in the May primary election?  Then join us!

When:  Thursday, April 10, 2008; 6:30 pm social; 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Where:  Bend’s Community Center, 1036 NE 5th Street 

Who:  Candidates for U.S. House 2nd CD: Noah Lemas;  Oregon Senate 27: Maren Lundgren; Oregon House 54: Judy Stiegler;  Oregon House 53: Conrad Ruel;  County Commission:  Robert Ray & Alan Unger;  Oregon Treasurer:  Ben Westlund.

Senators Clinton and Obama sent their regrets, but both will have lots of supporters in the audience.

Our agenda will include a “meet the candidates” coffee social at 6:30, and then a short presentation from each candidate, followed by our monthly business meeting and then more time to ask the candidates questions up close and personal. 

This will be a great time for all of you to bring a friend, and hear from your local candidates. So join us, April 10th from 6:30 (1/2 hour of refreshments) to 9:00 for some real Democratic fun.

During April, we will be registering or re-registering as many Deschutes citizens as possible. We want to insure that our county has the highest Democratic Party voter turnout in the history of Deschutes County!

Don’t forget, Earth Day is April 19th, and we still have room for some friendly volunteers to staff our booth and register voters.  Haven’t done this before?  It’s really great fun!
