Monthly Central Committee Meeting

Thursday, March 13th, the famous Deshutes Democrats will be having our monthly
general meeting. This will be a great time for all of you to bring
a friend, and show them how much fun it is to work and play with like minded
people. Not only that, but you'll get to learn about how to become a delegate
for your candidate.
Sometimes, here in Central Oregon, it feels like you could knock
on every door within miles and never find a Democrat.
Well, I'm here you tell you," it
ain't so".
After our "2nd super tuesday", last week (how many super Tuesdays can you fit
in a year?), it looks like we, meaning you and I, may get to be the "deciders" for
this democratic primary election. That's pretty cool. Let's talk
about it. This is the best place to find supporters of both
candidates. Let's keep this election fun.
Our proposed agenda will include a presentation and discussion of the delegate
selection process here in Oregon, a look at a real live
previously elected Democratic National Convention delegate. Not a
pretend delegate, mind you, but a real one, with paraphernalia and all.
In addition, you'll find out from our treasurer that the Deschutes Dems. have money
(not a lot, but we are working on that). We also have some money making event
ideas. Do you, bring 'em.
Finally, we will have work to do. (we call it play) Next month offers our first
public event that allows us to spread the word. Earth Day Celebration is
the first, and some might say best, opportunity for the Deschutes Dems. to
"get out the vote". We will be registering or re-registering as
many Deschutes citizens as possible.We to insure that our county has the
highest democrat voter turnout in the history of Deschutes county. Is
that asking too much......I think not.
But wait,
that's not all. Thursday will also be our time to gather into smaller
activity volunteer groups. Lot's of you have already volunteered to help
in some way; this will be your chance to see who else wants to help in the same
manner. Maybe, you'll decide on a couple of co-leaders for your
group.
So join us, Thursday night, March 13th from
6:30(1/2 hour of coffee, tea, or water) to 9:00 for some real Democratic
