PCP Insiders - Pick your pleasure

PCP Insider PCPsPick Your Pleasure

At the December Central Committee Meeting, PCPs voted to organize around activity rather than locale for 2012. As a PCP, you will still be your neighborhood representative, the person who can tell us how to best communicate with and win over the voters in your precinct. BUT you will have the support of all the PCPs in the county and will give your support to them.

What kind of support? Whatever you do best, whatever you like to do best. If your forte is cooking, you can provide refreshments. If your New Year’s resolution is to get more exercise, you can canvass (and get some of those refreshments). If you love to write, join the Literary Lefties to balance The Bulletin’s opinion pages. Come to the Central Committee meeting on January 12th where a dozen other options will be on offer or you can present your own brilliant idea.

The Power in the Party

  • Q: What happens in December in every even numbered year?
  • A: Appointed PCPs and non-PCPs find out they can’t vote for next year’s leadership.
  • Q: How can you avoid this fate?
  • A: File now to become an elected PCP at the May Primary.
  • Q: What if you are already an elected PCP?
  • A: You must file and be elected anew in every even numbered year.
  • Q: How do you file?
  • A: Come to the Central Committee Meeting January 12th when Peg Humphreys will give you the filing form and lead you through the process.
  • Q: What happens after you file?
  • A: You give your form to Peg, your name appears on the primary ballot in your precinct, all the Democrats in your precinct vote for you, and you become a Power in the Party.
