This opportunity to meet with and listen to these candidates is part of the Truman Club’s ongoing mission to help elect progressive Democrats to local and statewide offices.  Because 2008 is such an important year for all of us, the Truman Club is hosting a series of conversations with candidates for public office.  This is the first such event. 

It is imperative that the people of Oregon elect the best Secretary of State possible with the highest integrity because the Secretary is responsible for applying the election laws that allow our representative form of government to function.  The Secretary of State is first in line of succession to the Governor and is also responsible for administering the all-important Audits, Archives, and Corporations Divisions. 

We want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to meet with these candidates.  Any interested Deschutes Democrat is invited and is asked to bring friends who wish to learn more about or support these fine candidates or the Truman Club. There is no charge for this event, but contributions to the candidates and/or the Truman Club are greatly appreciated.
